WELLINGTON'S INTENSIVE CARE UNIT HAS 1,400 PATIENTS ADMITTED PER YEAR.
The Unit cares for critically unwell patients of all ages who require specialist care. Every patient has a nurse allocated to their care 24 hours per day.
The average length of stay is two days.
90% of patients survive their stay in ICU.
